The Law and Justice Fair at the University of Law
Yesterday,
Wainwright & Cummins were pleased to participate in the Law and Justice
Fair at the University of Law Bloomsbury campus.
The Law and
Justice Fair focuses on those firms that provide personal, rather than
commercial, legal services. Many of the firms attending were high street firms,
providing the full range of traditional services from criminal defence to
family law, immigration, Conveyancing, probate, and housing. Others were more
specialised firms which focus on public law and Judicial Review; almost all of
the practices were, to a greater or lesser extent, legal aid firms. In addition
the fair was attended by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group, Westminster
Citizens’ Advice Bureau, and the Government Legal Service.
Wainwright
& Cummins has attended this fair for many years running – nobody is quite
sure, but we think it has been at least seven years, possibly eight or even
longer! – and every year we find it a valuable and interesting experience.
Yesterday we were pleased to see some former work experience students, and we
enjoyed catching up with them on their progress since their time at Wainwright
& Cummins; and we met many more students with interests in our areas of
practice, some of whom we hope will go on to do work experience with the firm
and perhaps even take up permanent positions with us. Every year we are
invigorated by the enthusiasm and determination of students to work in legal
aid law, and reassured about the future of these areas of practice. We look
forward to next year!
If you are
interested in undertaking work experience with Wainwright & Cummins, please
email Richard.reilly@wainwrightcummins.co.uk with your CV and a cover letter
explaining your interest in our firm and any particular practice areas you
would like to experience.
