Wainwright & Cummins does the London Marathon!

Wainwright & Cummins are delighted to announce that our partner and Head of our Family Law Department, Danny Lyness, successfully ran the London Marathon on Sunday in aid of the NSPCC. This was Danny’s first ever marathon, although he has been a runner for many years, and he completed the course in a very speedy four hours and eight minutes.

This is made all the more impressive by the fact that the day of the marathon was also Danny’s birthday. Most of us might choose to relax on our birthdays, or indulge in fine food and wine, but not Danny: he chose to put himself through one of the most strenuous things a human can do!

However, this is made slightly more explicable when you consider Danny’s vocation and the charity he chose to support when running the marathon. Danny is a family law solicitor, with extensive experience of working for and on behalf of children in difficult, sometimes terrible, situations. The NSPCC is a prestigious charity dedicated to tackling child abuse and cruelty to children, and so it is close to Danny’s heart; additionally, Danny is a father of three himself.

We are very proud of this amazing achievement and we look forward to next year’s London Marathon – hoping for more Wainwright & Cummins participants!

Danny has raised the tremendous sum of nearly £2500 for the NSPCC so far, and fundraising is still ongoing; so if you would like to make a contribution, please visit his JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/Danny-Lyness
